You will receive expert guidance from experienced colleagues and have structured development opportunities to equip you with the knowledge, experience, and capabilities required to build a successful career and progress into your permanent position within ScottishPower.

Where you'll be working

ScottishPower Renewables is a leading UK renewable energy company, developing, building and operating onshore and offshore wind projects. With over 40 operational windfarms generating more than 3,000 MW and ambitious plans for future technologies, including large-scale floating offshore wind, we are helping to deliver a cleaner, more secure energy future.

Our Policy & Regulation Team helps shape the UK renewable energy landscape by assessing energy policy, grid and regulation, planning and environmental policy developments and translating them into clear business insights. We identify opportunities, risks and barriers that could impact ScottishPower Renewables' existing operations and future projects, working closely with onshore and offshore development, construction, operations, commercial and corporate teams to support informed decision-making and the conditions needed to maintain our existing fleet and build the pipeline for future growth.

What you'll be doing

As an Economics Graduate within the SPR Policy & Regulation team, you’ll get involved in live policy and regulatory issues shaping renewable energy in the UK — from routes to market and investment support mechanisms such as Contracts for Difference, to grid connections and charging, Reformed National Pricing and the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan.

You’ll see how these issues affect projects in development, construction and operation, and help turn complex policy and regulatory developments into clear, practical advice for colleagues across the business.

You’ll work alongside subject matter experts, contribute to policy analysis and consultation responses, help prepare briefings for senior leaders, and support engagement with government, regulators and industry bodies.

There may also be opportunities to work with colleagues in Communications to understand how policy positions and industry issues are explained to key stakeholders.
