The training provided in every option of the ScottishPower Apprenticeship Programme combines technical skills training, academic study and work-based learning and assessment.
Your apprenticeship could last three years as you work towards a nationally-recognised apprenticeship framework. When you successfully complete the apprenticeship, you’ll become a qualified craftsperson in a specific discipline within the power industry.
What would I achieve upon completion of the apprenticeship?
ScottishPower Apprenticeship Programmes are endorsed by EU Skills providing apprentices the opportunity to become fully trained, qualified and competent in either Cable Jointing, Overhead Lines or Electrical Fitting
- In England & Wales you will complete the apprenticeship Power Network Craftperson which will include a City & Guilds 2339-17 technical qualification in Electrical Power Engineering – Distribution & Transmission. Competence will be monitored & assessed in the field follow by an End Point Assessment
- In Scotland apprentices will follow the MA in Power Distribution which will include a City & Guilds 2343-17 qualification in Electrical Power Engineering – Distribution & Transmission. Apprentices will also complete City & Guilds (2343) SCQF in their trade
