This programme combines technical skills training and, academic study within our training centres and college with work-based learning in our operational Districts, with ongoing assessment.

Heather – Power Engineering Apprenticeship Programme
During the programme, you’ll work alongside our craft and engineering workforce and assist them in the safe operation, maintenance and construction of our network while providing our customers excellent customer service. Upon successful completion of the programme you’ll become a qualified project engineer within the power industry with an HNC in Electrical Engineering and the opportunity to develop your career within an engineering industry experiencing unprecedented levels of innovation and change. You will receive a starting salary of £20,958.
What we’re looking for:
We need talented, ambitious, hardworking and flexible people with Craft Apprenticeship entry requirements plus:
- In Scotland – At least 2 Highers at Grade A-C, one being Maths.
- In England & Wales – At least two A-levels at Grade A-C one being Maths.
- We will also consider the BTEC Electronic & Electrical Engineering at Level 3 or National Certificate SCQF Level 6 in Electronic & Electrical Engineering.
This is a 3 year programme.
