The Need for Speed - delivering green energy security - affordably and at pace

The way we generate, distribute and consume energy matters like never before.  Keeping household bills low as the cost of living crisis continues to hit hard. Unlocking investment to make our world-leading net zero targets a reality. Ensuring more electricity is made in the UK, for the UK. These are all critical issues that require action – now – if we’re to stay on the green track for the future.

What is Net Zero Week?

We all need to radically reduce our carbon emissions to combat the effects of climate change. However, reaching net zero will require many new measures, innovative solutions, government policies and plenty of  effort at work and home.

Net Zero Week is part of this much-needed momentum. The UK's national awareness week highlights our challenge and provides the best expert advice and information to help us all better understand the challenge and how to benefit from making changes.

But what does Net Zero actually mean?

For Net Zero Week we celebrated the people behind the energy transition and bring a spotlight to those driving change forward.

We caught up with a few of our people to give us an insight into how they transitioned into a ‘greener’ role within ScottishPower:

David Bowie

ScottishPower Head of Technical Training

Ross Galbraith

SP Energy Networks District General Manager – Central & Fife

Lisa Moir

ScottishPower Hydrogen Services Manager

David Barr

ScottishPower Renewables Quality Assurance Systems Manager
