Our IT Function

In partnership with Global IT, our Corporate IT Team is responsible for delivering improved services and innovative technical solutions to the ScottishPower businesses. This is a dynamic, challenging and exciting environment and we want people who’re up for the challenge to join our team.

On our IT Graduate programme, you will gain a greater understanding of our IT function as well as the utilities sector as a whole. With support from experienced mentors, you’ll gain essential skills and valuable experience, providing you with the tools you need to excel in our global organisation. With placements across the function, you’ll gain insights into multiple facets of IT while focusing on your chosen specialism. And with each placement, you’ll continue to build your network of colleagues and graduates to support your development. As a global organisation, you may be able to enjoy placements across the Iberdrola group, providing you with experience of dealing with global, multi-cultural teams and almost certainly gaining invaluable experience of participating in global projects.

 Digital Graduate - Glasgow

Our highly skilled and agile Digital Team are leading the digital agenda across ScottishPower with the creation of a new Digital Hub. We’ve built four critical capability pillars focused on Web & Mobile Apps, Industry 4.0, Data & Analytics and Agile. From Artificial Intelligence, to the Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Machine Learning and the delivery of new Digital Apps, we know that Digital Technology plays a critical role in the delivery of a Net Zero future.

We’re looking for graduates with an interest in these areas to join our new Digital Hub and get involved in delivering some of the most exciting and purpose led digital innovations. Right now, the energy sector is going through the biggest digital transformation of any sector. We’re working with the latest software on the coolest technology to support a transition to a more sustainable future for our customers, communities and stakeholders. And as a graduate, we’ll invest in you and your future. With support from our highly experienced team, you’ll work across a variety of our Digital Teams, gaining insights into different IT roles, acquiring extensive experience and developing new skills allowing you to choose the career path that’s right for you.

We want to hear from you if you have, or expect to achieve, an Honours Degree (or equivalent) at a minimum of 2:2 in IT, Data Science or Data Analytics, Electrical & Electronics with Computer Science/IT or similar. If you also happen to speak a foreign language, even better.

 

 Cyber Security Graduate - Glasgow

Working with our Global IT function, our experienced Cyber Security Team provides cyber services and solutions to our businesses to protect our critical infrastructure. With our businesses facing a constantly evolving and increasing level of cyber threat activity, we play a pivotal role by monitoring our systems and ensuring we have the right technologies to protect our assets and ultimately make sure we keep the power flowing. We’re looking for graduates with an aptitude for Cyber Security to keep our walls up against these continuous threats.

Our programme will give you insights into the different cyber security tools and services required to support an organisation that has to protect critical national infrastructure.  You can select placements across different cyber security areas, depending on your area of interest, including security incident response, threat intelligence processing, security tool management, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, security consultancy, security programme delivery and security strategy definition. You’ll learn about IT Security, Risk and Compliance; and you’ll provide world class support to the business to define, manage and deliver projects. And with experience in multiple facets of Cyber Security and support from expert mentors, you’ll become an authority on Cyber Security. 

We want to hear from you NOW if you have, or expect to achieve, an Honours Degree (or equivalent) at a minimum of 2:2 in a Cyber Security related degree, or similar. If you also happen to speak a foreign language, even better.

 

 IT Graduate - Glasgow

Delivering improved IT services and innovative technical solutions, our Networking, Infrastructure, Service Delivery and Operations and Architecture Team are a highly skilled and agile team who deliver, maintain and secure our network and underlying Infrastructure platforms. Working with the Global IT Team, we play a critical role in safeguarding the network as well as ensuring that the business, and our employees, have the hardware and software necessary to deliver. We’re the cornerstone of the IT function.

To join us as an IT Graduate you can have ANY DEGREE, because we’re interested in your enthusiasm for learning, your creativity and your vision. From day one, we’re invested in your development and will provide you with extensive training in each of our specialisms, allowing you to understand how the functions are interconnected, so that by the end of the programme you’ll be an IT expert. You could be scoping business requirements and delivering IT solutions, deploying essential hardware and software or facilitating network connections. Your placements will give you all round experience of IT to help you explore your strengths and identify the career path that’s right for you. Surrounded by highly experienced IT professionals, you’ll be supported and mentored to achieve a successful career in IT.

We want to hear from you if you have, or expect to achieve, an Honours Degree (or equivalent) at a minimum of 2:2 in ANY SUBJECT. In our team, we’re not restricted by degree disciplines. With your intelligence already proven, we’re looking for people with a thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn.
