Understanding and managing the impact we have on the environment in our local communities and striving for continuous improvement is a significant part of our overall approach to CSR and sustainability here at ScottishPower.
Our environment programmes include Biodiversity Action Plans in place at our generation sites, as well as Habitat Management Plans throughout the scope of our renewables operations.
Countryside & Wildlife Rangers
Another aspect of our work that we’re proud of is our continuing promotion of biodiversity and also the education of community groups through our co-sponsorship of countryside rangers at a number of our sites, in association with local authorities and the Scottish Wildlife Trust.
These rangers support a number of our power stations, including at Loch Doon, which forms part of the Galloway Hydro Scheme, at the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s reserve in Lanark, close to our Lanark Hydro-electric Scheme, and at the Musselburgh Lagoons, next to Cockenzie Power Station.
