Energy Networks Business Graduate - Cambuslang
Our Customer and Commercial Team are key to delivering the RIIO – T2 Business Plan, which outlines our goals to achieve a sustainable Net Zero future. The team supports the governance, control and delivery of all Commercial and Customer aspects of the Transmission business, and it will deliver innovative solutions to increase efficiency. And in 2022, we need a passionate graduate to join us on this exciting journey.
Right from the start, you’ll make real world contributions to our Net Zero ambition, driving the decarbonising of our network through a focus on financial control and continuous improvements across our commercial and customer areas. Our programme is shaped around building your knowledge and experience of our core business functions such as Finance and Control, Business Change, Project Management and Customer Service. Renewables Commercial Graduate – Glasgow
Our Commercial functions play a vital role within the renewables industry; monitoring and influencing the Global Energy Market, conducting analysis to identify investment opportunities and ensuring adherence to energy policy. And with environmental changes and political updates ranging from evolutionary to radical, this is a dynamic environment engaged in a wide range of business activities that will accelerate our journey to Net Zero.
As a Commercial Graduate, you’ll support the SPR Investment Office, providing financial analysis of Onshore and Offshore Renewable investment opportunities. Presenting an economic business case to local and global executives, your report will allow the Final Investment Decision to be made on a proposed project. Or your analysis and due diligence might be used to make acquisition and divestment decisions, supporting the enhancement of our organic pipeline of projects, essential to our ambitious growth plans.
You’ll participate in the Capacity Market in the UK and Ireland, developing your understanding of the market rules, pre-qualifying sites and preparing for auctions. And of course, we want to maximise the competitiveness of our projects to secure a Route to Market, so you’ll need to get to know our competitors intimately. Using this knowledge, you’ll collate market intelligence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to identify ways to financially optimise our projects in these extremely competitive markets. Finance Graduate - Glasgow

We provide sound accounting and financial advice, having a direct role in deciding what we do now and where we go next.
You’ll have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience across a diverse range of finance roles. With over 150 people in our team, you’ll be exposed to a wealth of knowledge, you’ll see new challenges and opportunities and you’ll create a network of great colleagues. It’s designed to bring out the best in you and to introduce you to how we structure, operate and manage the finances of a major innovative energy business. Former graduates and senior finance leaders run and mentor the scheme and all graduates are encouraged to contribute to improving and developing the programme.
You’ll receive full financial and educational support to help you attain your Chartered Accountant qualification. We partner with both ICAS and CIMA to provide your professional training allowing you to attain a globally recognised professional qualification. This includes time off for the course, study leave and exams too. Your three-year programme is tailored to you and your personal development, helping you understand the career path that’s right for you and at the end of your programme we’ll help you find the right role for you.

IT Finance Graduate - Glasgow
In partnership with Global IT, our Corporate IT Team is responsible for delivering improved services and innovative technical solutions to the ScottishPower businesses. This is a dynamic, challenging and exciting environment and we want people who’re up for the challenge to join our team. Our IT department contains a broad range of critical functions, and our IT Office is one of the most diverse. We’re the glue that keeps the IT function running efficiently. And this year, we’re looking for graduates with a Business or Accounting background to drive our business forward as we strive to optimise our processes through increased efficiency and automation.
With digitalisation driving efficiencies and creating a focus on real value add activities, we’re constantly evolving our processes and the tools we use. As a Finance Graduate within our IT team you’ll become an expert stakeholder manager as you deliver multiple work streams, taking a leading role in providing day-to-day finance activities such as monthly financial reporting, forecasting business plans and investment analysis. But we also want you to use your IT experience and understanding of technology to create innovative solutions to introduce digital changes and increase the automation of our manual processes. We’re looking for someone who understands finance and IT and can drive our business forward through continuous process improvements. And working with customers locally and globally, as well as key stakeholders in our supply chain, you’ll implement these changes across all relevant processes to increase efficiency and enhance customer interactions.

As a Procurement graduate, you’ll be responsible for running competitive tender processes to ensure that necessary goods and services are provided at optimal cost, enabling our businesses to operate efficiently. And you’ll need excellent communication and influencing skills to negotiate high value contract terms with our suppliers. We engage with a wide range of companies, and you’ll play a vital role in reinforcing our supply chain as we seek to collaborate with companies that consider sustainable development critical to facilitating a greener future.
Your two-year graduate programme will be tailored to help you to develop into a procurement professional with support given towards an industry recognised Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply qualification.
