Our Cost Assessment Analyst Graduate Programme offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your expertise in financial planning, cost control, and investment analysis within the electricity power sector. You’ll gain hands-on experience in key areas such as cost estimation, investment appraisal, budget planning and supporting the evolution of both Transmission and Distribution projects throughout the Price Control period.

You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of project delivery—from early-stage feasibility and budgeting to post-project evaluation—across both the Distribution and Transmission networks.

This comprehensive exposure will equip you with the commercial awareness, analytical skills, and sector-specific knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic world of cost and investment management in energy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Estimate costs and assess investments for Transmission and Distribution projects

  • Support budgeting, benchmarking, and post-project reviews

  • Help prepare regulatory submissions and respond to Ofgem queries

  • Use tools like Excel, Power BI, and SAP to analyse data and build cost models

  • Collaborate with teams across engineering, finance, and strategy

What you’ll bring

  • A 2:2 or above in Maths, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Engineering or similar

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Interest in energy, infrastructure, and commercial strategy

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • A driving licence (or working towards it)
