Following a competitive auction process, ScottishPower has provisionally secured capacity market agreements for the winter of 2018/19 for its four operational gas-fired power stations and its hydro operations in Scotland. In total the company secured agreements for 2.3GW of de-rated generation capacity.
The agreements for existing gas plant cover Damhead Creek (708 MW), Rye House (629 MW), Shoreham (374 MW) and Blackburn (53 MW). The Hydro agreements cover the pumped storage plant at Cruachan (428 MW) and 68 MW of traditional hydro.
