Engineering Foundation Programme

Why join our Engineering Foundation Programme?

Over the past five years, ScottishPower’s Engineering Foundation Programme has been investing heavily in the local communities where we operate, providing young people with career opportunities for the future. We have established partnerships with Edinburgh College, Glasgow Clyde College and West Cheshire College to provide entry level qualifications to our Craft Apprenticeship Programme.

Our Engineering Foundation Programme involves studying at college mixed with technical training, providing you with a fantastic way to gain valuable knowledge and experience. This will provide a great foundation to start your career with the opportunity to further your personal skills by studying towards a First Aid qualification. Find out more about the training provided here. During the programme, you’ll also join our workforce, and while you’re helping them make a world of difference, you’ll have the opportunity to kick start your career in a number of ways too. Take a look at our case studies to see how current students of the programme are excelling in their roles.

Career Routes

Although the Engineering Foundation Programme is not a permanent role, on successful completion of the programme you will be able to apply or be considered for an apprenticeship with ScottishPower in England, Scotland or Wales. From there, you’ll enjoy further opportunities to progress your career and meet the needs of an ever-changing business.
