ScottishPower announces that, following the receipt on 23 November of the final regulatory approval for its merger with PacifiCorp, the merger process is expected to be finalised on 30 November 1999 with the admission to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange of the ScottishPower shares which are to be issued as consideration for the merger. It is expected that the articles of merger in the US will be filed on 29 November 1999.

ScottishPower announces that the pre-completion dividend referred to in its interim results of 3 November 1999 and in yesterday's announcement by ScottishPower will be 8.10p per ScottishPower share. The record date for this dividend will be 5.30pm London time on 28 November 1999 and the payment date will be 1 February 2000. It is expected that ScottishPower shares will trade ex the pre-completion dividend on 29 November 1999.

PacifiCorp will pay a pre-completion dividend based upon the daily equivalent of its current $1.08 annual dividend for the days elapsed from 15 November 1999 to the date before filing of the articles of merger.
