ScottishPower Management Changes

ScottishPower announced today the resignation, from the Board of Scottish Power plc, of Mike Kinski, Executive Director Power Systems and Water Operations, who will leave the company on 17 April 1998. As a consequence, the following changes in management responsibilities will take effect from 1 March 1998.
ScottishPower Finance Director, Ian Russell, is appointed Chairman of Southern Water. Ian, who is also Chairman of ScottishTelecom, will continue to be responsible for Finance, Strategic Planning, Information Systems and Corporate Affairs. Ronnie Mercer moves from ScottishPower's Generation business and becomes Managing Director of Southern Water plc.
Duncan Whyte, Executive Director Multi-Utility, will become Chairman of Manweb. Duncan will retain responsibility for the group's Energy Supply business and will continue to lead the development of the group's multi-utility operations.
Operational responsibility for Power Systems will remain with Managing Director Alan Richardson, who will report directly to Chief Executive Ian Robinson.
Generation and Energy Trading will continue to be headed up by Executive Director Ken Vowles.
Chief Executive Ian Robinson said,

He leaves behind him at Southern Water and Manweb two very strong management teams and I believe that under the chairmanship of Ian Russell and Duncan Whyte these businesses will continue to deliver for customers and shareholders.
