ScottishPower Files US State Regulatory Testimony
1 March 1999
As part of the State regulatory process, ScottishPower has filed testimony with regulators in four of the six states in which PacifiCorp operates.
This testimony focuses upon ScottishPower's commitment to deliver a package of customer service standards to PacifiCorp customers when the merger is completed, which includes the following guarantees:
To restore power to customers within 24 hours, barring extreme weather conditions. A failure to deliver on this commitment would result in the customer receiving compensation of $50, plus $25 for every additional 12 hours out of service.
To improve PacifiCorp's operations across a range of measures that will make it one of the top 10 performing U.S. utilities by 2004.
Upon completion of the transaction ScottishPower will invest $55 million over the next five years to begin phasing in the targeted service improvements.
Commenting on the filing, Ian Russell, Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director said:
"The filing of our testimony represents the next stage in the State regulatory approvals process.
The package of customer service standards enshrined in our testimony is unparalleled in the US, and is a significant step forward for the customers of PacifiCorp. "
The testimony outlines our commitment to introduce improvements across a range of company operations that will make PacifiCorp one of the top 10 performing U.S. utilities by 2004.
