ScottishPower announced today that David Nish, currently Deputy Finance Director, has been appointed to the ScottishPower Board as Finance Director. Ian Russell, as Deputy Chief Executive, will now be responsible for our UK and US operations. He remains Non-Executive Chairman of Thus. Both Ian and David will report directly to the Chief Executive, Ian Robinson, along with the Strategy, Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Affairs Executives.

David Nish joined ScottishPower in 1997 as Deputy Finance Director. In addition to developing the group's Finance, Treasury, Taxation and Internal Audit functions, David has played an important role in the financial aspects of the PacifiCorp transaction and the flotation of Thus. Prior to joining the group, David was a Partner with Price Waterhouse.

Commenting on the announcement, Chairman Murray Stuart said:

As already announced on the completion of the merger with PacifiCorp on 30th November, Keith McKennon, formerly Chairman and Chief Executive of PacifiCorp has been appointed a Deputy Chairman of ScottishPower and Nolan Karras and Robert Miller, both Non-Executive directors of PacifiCorp, have been appointed Non-Executive Directors of ScottishPower.
