Following the announcement of 21 March 2001, Ian Russell today succeeds Sir Ian Robinson as Chief Executive of ScottishPower. The Executive Directors reporting to Ian Russell, and their responsibilities, are as follows:

• David Nish continues as Group Finance Director. David is also appointed a Non-Executive Director of ScottishPower subsidiary, Thus plc.
• Charles Berry becomes Executive Director, UK, responsible for UK energy businesses. Charles is also appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Thus plc, succeeding Ian Russell.
• Alan Richardson becomes Executive Director, US, with continuing overall responsibility for PacifiCorp.
• Ken Vowles becomes Executive Director, International, responsible for development of the group's plant portfolio. Ken retains responsibility for ScottishPower's European portal investment.

In addition to these Executive Director positions, Ronnie Mercer has been appointed Group Director, Infrastructure, reporting to Ian Russell.

The ScottishPower changes take effect immediately. The appointments to the board of Thus plc are effective from 23 May 2001.
