ScottishPower Buys Hatfield Moor Gas Storage Facility

ScottishPower has bought the 4.1 billion cubic feet Hatfield Moor gas storage facility from Edinburgh Oil & Gas Limited ("EOG"), a company owned jointly by Dyas B.V. and Oranje-Nassau Energie B.V., for £11.5m in order to increase and enhance its gas storage capabilities.

ScottishPower Completes PacifiCorp sale

Sale of PacifiCorp The Board of ScottishPower announces the successful completion of the sale of PacifiCorp to MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company (MEHC) for US$5.1 billion in cash plus the assumption by MEHC of all of PacifiCorp's debt outstanding at completion. The sale has received all relevant regulatory and shareholder consents and has been completed considerably ahead of the schedule originally envisaged by ScottishPower.

Final regulatory approval for PacifiCorp sale received

ScottishPower announces that MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company has received final regulatory approval for its proposed purchase of PacifiCorp. The six state public utility commissions regulating PacifiCorp have issued final written orders approving the purchase of PacifiCorp. The sale of PacifiCorp is now only subject to customary closing conditions.

ScottishPower's PacifiCorp Granted $51 Million in Utah General Rate Case

ScottishPower announces that on 25 February its subsidiary, PacifiCorp, was granted $51 million of additional annual revenues by the Utah Public Service Commission (UPSC). PacifiCorp is allowed to implement these new rates a month early, resulting in a one-off benefit in the current year of $4.3 million. During the course of the proceeding, PacifiCorp also revised a number of its large customer contracts that will provide additional annual revenue of $4 million.

ScottishPower to Raise Prices from March as a Result of Soaring Wholesale Costs

ScottishPower, while continuing to absorb much of the impact of soaring wholesale costs, today announced higher gas and electricity prices, but extended availability of its Capped Price Offer shielding customers from further increases until October 2007. From 1 March 2006 electricity prices will rise by 8% and gas by 15%.

ScottishPower and RES UK Win Approval for Borders Windfarm Extension

ScottishPower and RES UK Ltd have been granted planning permission by Scottish Borders Council for a 30MW, 35 turbine extension to Dun Law windfarm south of Soutra. The combined 61 turbine windfarm will provide enough green energy for 24,000 homes and will reduce carbon emissions equivalent to taking 35,000 cars off the road.
