PacifiCorp Generation Unit Outage
4 December 2000
Following the failure of a 430MW generation unit at its Hunter, Utah, power plant on November 24, 2000, ScottishPower today announced that it expects the generation unit to be out of service for four to six months while repairs are completed. Given the current exceptional conditions of the Californian and Western United States power markets, ScottishPower estimates a net cost impact of approximately $1 million a day at last week's power market prices. ScottishPower will seek recovery of these costs through the regulatory process.

ScottishPower Disposal of Operations in Australia

On 3 August 2000 ScottishPower announced the disposal of its Australian assets comprising Powercor and a 19.9% interest in Hazelwood Power Station. Subsequent to this International Power plc notified ScottishPower that it intended to exercise its right of pre-emption over the 19.9% interest in Hazelwood. On 17 November 2000, ScottishPower completed the sale of its interest in Hazelwood to International Power plc for Aus $88 million.

ScottishPower 2000-01 Second Quarter ADS Dividend

On 9 November 2000 ScottishPower announced that the second interim dividend for the quarter ended 30 September 2000 of 6.51 pence per ordinary share would be payable on 15 December 2000 to shareholders on the register on 24 November 2000. This is to confirm that the dividend rate per American Depository Share (ADS) is $0.3702. The ADS dividend will be paid on 15 December 2000 to ADS holders of record on 24 November 2000.
