ScottishPower announced today that David Nish, currently Deputy Finance Director, has been appointed to the ScottishPower Board as Finance Director. Ian Russell, as Deputy Chief Executive, will now be responsible for our UK and US operations. He remains Non-Executive Chairman of Thus. Both Ian and David will report directly to the Chief Executive, Ian Robinson, along with the Strategy, Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Affairs Executives.

ScottishPower-PacifiCorp Merger Date and Pre-Completion Dividend

ScottishPower announces that, following the receipt on 23 November of the final regulatory approval for its merger with PacifiCorp, the merger process is expected to be finalised on 30 November 1999 with the admission to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange of the ScottishPower shares which are to be issued as consideration for the merger. It is expected that the articles of merger in the US will be filed on 29 November 1999.

ScottishPower-PacifiCorp Merger Obtains Final Regulatory Approval

ScottishPower and PacifiCorp announced that they have received merger approval from the Utah Public Service Commission, the final state regulatory approval required for the merger. In addition on Monday, the Wyoming Public Service Commission issued a final written order, based on its earlier public deliberation, approving the merger. It is now anticipated that the merger will be completed within the next two weeks.

Idaho Approves ScottishPower-PacifiCorp Merger

ScottishPower and PacifiCorp announced they have received merger approval from the Idaho Public Utility Commission (IPUC), the fifth of six state regulatory approvals required for the merger to be completed. In addition, the merger has obtained all federal approvals. An order is pending in Utah, and Wyoming has verbally approved the merger, subject to the issuance of a written order.

ScottishPower Generating Year 2000 Power

ScottishPower customers can now use electricity generated in the Year 2000 following the successful advancement of the clocks at all of its major power generating plants. ScottishPower and PacifiCorp announced that they have reached an overall settlement with the Utah Division of Public Utilities (DPU) and the Committee of Consumer Services (CCS) regarding the proposed merger of the companies. Approval of Merger By PacifiCorp Shareholders

ScottishPower announces that, at the Annual Meeting of PacifiCorp shareholders held yesterday in Salt Lake City, PacifiCorp shareholders approved the terms of the merger with ScottishPower. Approximately 70% of shareholders voted in favour of the resolution to approve the merger, representing 87% of the total votes cast. This follows the approval of the merger by ScottishPower shareholders on 15 June.

In October OFWAT published, in the document Prospects for Prices, proposals for the five year price control period from 1 April 2000. It was proposed that Southern Water would face an initial price cut of over 17.5%, followed by four years of price increases.
