ScottishPower has appointed David Nish its new Deputy Finance Director. David, 37, joins the Company from international accountants Price Waterhouse where he was a Partner in their Glasgow office, specialising in complex audit assignments and special investigations.

A Glasgow University graduate in accountancy, David joined Price Waterhouse in 1981 and was admitted to the Partnership four years ago. He also spent two years working with the firm's Canadian operations during the 1980s.

"I am delighted to join ScottishPower at such an exciting time as the business moves into the fully competitive energy markets. I am looking forward to working with Finance Director Ian Russell and his team to ensure that the Company continues to maximise value for shareholders through the most effective financial management of its businesses," he said.
