ScottishPower today announces that Ken Vowles, an Executive Director for almost eight years, will retire from the Company on 31 March 2002.

Ken Vowles, who will be 60 in March, joined ScottishPower in 1990 from National Power. His 40-year career in the power generation industry was recognised in June 2001 when he was awarded an OBE in the Queen's birthday honours.

ScottishPower Chairman Charles Miller Smith said: "Ken has played a key role in ScottishPower's transformation from a regional electricity company into an international energy group. We wish him well in the future and in his retirement".
