ScottishPower Accepts Ofgem Price Control Proposals
24 December 2004
ScottishPower has accepted Ofgem's Final Proposals of 29th November in respect of the Electricity Distribution Price Control Review, as applicable to its distribution businesses, SP Distribution and SP Manweb, subject to these proposals being fully reflected in licence modifications. The new price controls will run for five years from 1st April 2005.

2004/05 1st Quarter Results to 30 June 2004

This year has started well albeit less strongly than the first quarter of last year. In the UK we gained 250,000 more customers to lift our total to 4.5 million and bought the modern Damhead Creek gas plant at an attractive price to help meet growth in demand. After a slow start, PacifiCorp's performance improved later in the quarter.

Stock Exchange Announcement re Redemption of Special Share

Scottish Power plc confirms that it has received notice from the Secretary of State for Scotland of the redemption of its £1 special share, as announced by the Department of Trade and Industry earlier today. The special share was created at the time of privatisation, along with a limit, contained in the Company's Articles of Association, of 15% on the number of ordinary Scottish Power plc shares which could be held by any person. The effect of the special share was to prevent any change to the 15% limit without the consent of the Secretary of State.

ScottishPower has announced the completion of the 35 turbine Cruach Mhor windfarm in Argyll. The final turbine was erected today bringing on 30MW of green energy, enough to power over 17,000 homes.

ScottishPower Wins Approval for Biggest UK Windfarm

ScottishPower has been granted planning permission by the Scottish Executive for a 143MW, 62 turbine windfarm around 20 miles west of Edinburgh. The Black Law project - the largest onshore windfarm in the UK approved to date will start generating power in spring 2005.

Regulatory Approval

On 17 November 2003 ScottishPower made an announcement regarding termination of the Peterhead and Hydro Agreements, subject to certain regulatory approvals. ScottishPower is pleased to announce that all the necessary approvals referred to in the 17 November announcement have now been obtained and consequently we can confirm that the Peterhead and Hydro Agreements will end on 1st April 2005.
