On 24th April 2007 Iberdrola closed the friendly integration with ScottishPower in a record five months. Valued at €17.1bn, it has been one of the largest such transactions carried out by a Spanish company. ScottishPower is the third largest electricity distributor and largest wind power producer in the UK and contributed 25% of Group Ebitda for 2007 (€1,352m) in just eight months. In addition, ScottishPower has made a strong start to 2008, contributing 28% of Group profit in Quarter 1.

The Group has more than 42,000MW of installed capacity, it is a world leader in renewables with around 8,000MW in operation and 42,000MW in the pipeline, it manages more than 25 million points of supply, and in gas it has more than 4bcm (billion cubic metres) in storage capacity, 3.3bcm in regasification capacity and three million customers.

Iberdrola's track record over the past seven years reflects the implementation of a successful model that has benefited all stakeholders. Shareholders have seen TSR rise to 250% in the period 2001-2007.
