Around 13,000 young athletes have been put through their paces at a series of sporting events sponsored by ScottishPower, which is now in its third year of sponsorship.
The company backed the "Energising Scotland's Youth" initiative in a bid to persuade kids to switch off their televisions and computers to save electrical energy and get active - by using energy of a different sort.

Junior athletes from across Scotland have taken part in several events, both during 2005 and 2007, including the ScottishPower National Cross Country Championships at Falkirk's Callendar Park in February, the Secondary School Indoor Championships at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena and primary and secondary schools cross country events at Irvine and Kirkcaldy.
The schools 2007 season kicked off with the ScottishPower National Cross Country Championships at Callendar Park, Falkirk. This year 2,000 runners battled it out for more than £5,000 worth of prizes thanks to ScottishPower's sponsorship once again.
Recently, over 1,500 pint-sized athletes headed to Fife for the Primary Schools’ Cross Country Championships in Kirkcaldy, where glorious weather attracted hundreds of spectators who came along to cheer on their local talent. Pupils competed for gold round a 1,600 metre track, battling against talent from the Shetlands to the Borders.
Allan Potts, President of Scottish Athletics said: "For hundreds of Scottish children the ScottishPower backed schools programme provides them with their first truly competitive athletics events."
Alison McKean, Head of Environment within Energy Retail said: "The kids obviously enjoy every minute and their talent and enthusiasm is really great to see. We are proud to be investing in Scotland's sporting future and encouraging the nation's Olympic and Commonwealth contenders of the future."
